The secret to the SSP6 Multiducer is its use of DML (Distributed Mode Loudspeaker) planar-wave physics. The result is uniform, constant-SPL sound waves emanating everywhere on the panel surfaces. Polar dispersion characteristics as shown in this polar plot, are unlike any traditional cone speaker’s limited conical propagation pattern. Sound energy is sent not only down, but laterally creating a room filling massive bubble of homogeneous high-fidelity sound. Traditional cone speakers focus high frequencies in a narrow dispersion pattern than mids and lows, which can dramatically reduce voice intelligibility. 

Conferencing 

Configuring audio in conference and meeting rooms has long posed challenges. Traditional cone-type loudspeakers provide uneven coverage with overly loud audio close to speakers, and not enough audio a short distance away from the speakers. Add to that, the complications of microphone placement to avoid feedback. 

The SSP6 Multiducer™ resolves those issues with a feedback-free speaker system for conferencing, presentations, and voice lift. Our speakers eliminate the need to set up mix-minus systems tied to legacy speaker technology. Additionally, sound pressure levels (SPL) can be set at Ergonomic Audio™ spoken voice levels for a much more comfortable listening experience. As the SSP6 Multiducers™ do not fight logarithmic losses over distance like conventional cone speakers, the system can deliver a much more natural user experience compared to conventional conferencing technologies.  

Transportation

Whether you're at a transit station or onboard a train, plane, or bus, being able to hear and understand announcements clearly is essential. Traditional loudspeakers leave a lot to be desired, especially when competing with high-volume background noise.

Marine Audio

Marine audio solutions face an added wrinkle beyond the challenges of providing quality audio and coverage. Even marine grade speakers deteriorate in the salt marine environment requiring a refit schedule. Traditional speakers fare even worse.   

Unlike traditional speakers, our SSP6 Multiducer™ is IP66 rated and is impervious to long term exposure in marine environments. They never require refitting over the vessel’s lifecycle. SSP6’s are the only marine speaker offering this level of functionality and value.

Healthcare

Creating audio solutions for healthcare environments always poses a challenge. These are typically large, multi-use complexes that need a system that can handle critical paging throughout the building, and benefit from sound masking for patient recovery rooms and admitting, as well as music for waiting rooms and surgical operating rooms. They also require speakers that will not be prone to permitting airborne pathogens  such as but certainly not limited to Clostridioides Difficile (CDI or C-diff) present in hospitals, to pass through speaker holes into the air plenum where they spread.

The DML technology employed by SSP6 Multiducers™ means there’s no reverberation or echoing (room modes) in large spaces. This allows for background music, or even louder foreground music to be played at an even, comfortable volume across the entire space, while still making it possible for patrons to converse easily.
